How to Set up Sage 50 Cloud?

Users can set up Sage 50 cloud accounts/Sage Accounts multi-user by installing the software on every computer, including the server.

Installation on Every Computer

Users must first log in as administrator. If Sage Accounts has been downloaded, users must double-click on the downloaded file and select ‘Run’. Users can also insert the ‘Sage Accounts’ DVD and then select ‘Install software’.

Users must then select ‘Download Accounts’, followed by ‘Install software’, if there’s a prompt. Then, check the box for accepting the terms and conditions and select ‘Next’. Now, users must select ‘Standard (recommended) and then ‘Yes, begin installation’. Next, select ‘Install’ in the ‘Sage Software Updates’ window.

Now, select ‘Yes, begin installation’ and after the update is installed, select ‘Close’. Then, in the ‘Install complete’ window, select ‘Close’ again.

These steps must be completed on every computer where Sage Accounts must be installed, including the server.

Creating and Sharing Company on the Server

Users must open ‘Sage 50 Accounts’ on the server, enter the software serial number and activation key, and then choose ‘Continue’. Users must then provide the Sage account number, if there’s a prompt, and then choose ‘Continue’.

Next, choose ‘Set up a new company’ in the ‘Active Setup Wizard’ and select ‘Next’. Then, select the ‘Share this folder for all users’ checkbox and note down the shared network path.

Now, select ‘Next’ and follow the prompts displayed on the screen.

NOTE: If users provide a trial key, they will be prompted to register the software when they open Sage 50 Accounts the next time. Once users are ready to do this, users must select ‘Register Now’ and follow the prompts.

Connecting Client Computers to the Company

1:Identifying the server name

Users must press Windows + R on the server computer, type in ‘cmd’ and press Enter. Next, they must type ‘hostname’ at the command prompt and then press Enter. Users must note down the server name, as it will be required in the next steps. Next, type ‘exit’ and press Enter to close the command prompt window.

2: Connecting to data on the server from client computer

Users must open ‘Sage Accounts’ on the client system, enter serial number and activation key f the software and select ‘Continue’. Users must provide the Sage account number, if there’s a prompt, and then select ‘Continue’.

Next, choose ‘Use a company already set up in another installationand select ‘Next’.

Now, users must browse or type the data path [the path noted down in previous steps]\Company.000 and select ‘Next’. Users must then follow the prompts for completing the process.

These steps must be completed for every client computer.

NOTE: If users provide a trial key, they will be prompted to register the software when they open Sage 50 Accounts the next time. Once users are ready to do this, users must select ‘Register Now’ and follow the prompts.

Installing Available Updates
