Let’s know right way to use QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool


QB analytic tool is basically developed to resolve networking and multi-user error that arises when you open a company file. The Quickbooks Diagnostic tool mainly works with computers that run Microsoft Windows Vista or XP with QB 2010, 2009, or, 2008 or Enterprise Solutions.
Follow the steps to use the tool:
  • You need to install and extract QB connection analytical Tool that is explained on the Download, the tool tab
  • Next, you need to double-click on QB Connection analytical Tool icon to run the tool
Now, follow the troubleshooting steps:

Connection tab will be diagnosed
In this test, you need to experiment with the computer setup and ensure that the company data file is accessible from the system, whether it is configured as a single-user or multi-user.
If by any chance, permissions are not set accurately, or if firewalls or ports are blocked, errors can arise

Firewall Status

Basic information about the firewall is displayed in the Firewall status

Test Connectivity

Under this troubleshooting step, the test connectivity enables you to test the system’s connectivity

Following are the list of steps to test the system’s connectivity:

  • Locate the company file by pressing the key next to the Company File field
  • If the network setup is in Alternate mode, then select Linux system only.
    After that, “Change Hosting Server” checkbox will be selected. Please note that all statuses will appear as “Not Applicable” in Blue before you run the connectivity test.
Once you run the test, the statuses appear in Green when no problem is detected and the statuses will appear in red when the problem is detected.
  • Test Connectivity button will be clicked to test all 5 statuses at the same time
  • If the File Open status shows Red implying that the Red is failed, the advanced section will be expanded to display all areas that were checked
