The data should also be backed up before attempting to solve the problem.
NOTE: If task windows don’t crash and yet the program does while saving transactions, users must seek information on disabling the touch keyboard.
Users must first choose ‘Services’ and then ‘Check for Updates’. Next, the 2018.2 update must be downloaded and installed. If the error persists, the compatibility settings of Windows 8 must be deleted. Once done, users must check if the program crashes again.
NOTE: Only MS Windows 10, version 1709 (Fall Creators Update), users should try this solution. The Sage 50 US Edition icon must be configured to be compatible with Windows 8 via the following steps:
First, users must right-click on the Sage icon and then choose ‘Properties’. Next, the ‘Compatibility’ tab should be selected and then the button called ‘Change settings for all users’.
Following this, users must check the box called ‘Run this program in Compatibility mode for’ and then choose Windows 8. Once done, users must select OK and then Sage must be initiated. Then, it should be checked that the issue hasn’t occurred again.
NOTE: In case the Sage icon is in the Windows Quick Launch Tool bar, the icon will have to be right-clicked and removed from the taskbar. Once the sage icon has been changed, it should be dragged to the Windows Quick Launch Tool bar and pinned again.
